Information
- CBG may help against inflammation, mainly mediated by modulation of JAK/STAT and NFκB signaling pathways.
- CBG may help in various pain models and is considered safe with low toxicity.
- Using CBG, we can significantly reduce pain sensitivity in peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy.
- Topical products with natural cannabinoids have shown that they may help: with pain, itching, inflammation, support healing and have antibacterial effects. This suggests they may be useful in conditions such as: psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, eczema, lichen simplex, venous ulcers or epidermolysis bullosa.
- Bones and hormonal regulation: Supports bone regeneration by recruiting stem cells and can reduce testosterone levels, which can be useful in the treatment of acne or hormonal imbalances.
- Potential use against acne. Their possible benefit mainly lies in their ability to: reduce sebum production in sebaceous glands, influence immune responses in the skin, inhibit the growth of the bacterium Cutibacterium acnes, which is closely associated with acne.
- Topical application of CBG improves skin barrier integrity by restoring proteins such as filaggrin, loricrin and involucrin.
- CBG has shown better performance than CBD in targeting genes related to collagen and elastin production, which are critical for maintaining the structural integrity of the skin.
- CBG remained in skin structures significantly better than CBD, suggesting that after topical use it may act longer and more effectively. These findings indicate that CBG in the form of an emulgel may be a very suitable component of dermatological products and, compared to the more commonly used CBD, may offer an advantage in the form of better local availability in the skin.
- A clinical study with a serum containing 0.1% CBG showed that CBG may positively influence significant improvement of the skin barrier function, including reduction of water loss and redness.
- CBG exhibits broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, especially against gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus including MRSA strains, which in some cases is stronger than CBD or THC.
- Resistant strains: CBG may be highly effective against gram-positive bacteria, including MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), where it shows similar effectiveness to the antibiotic vancomycin.
- Biofilms: CBG can disrupt the formation of bacterial biofilms, which are responsible for chronic infections and tooth decay.
